JOB SUMMARY: The Business Analyst performs many roles and interacts with many different teams across one or several projects. They work hand-in-hand with business clients, project managers, designers, developers and testers and are engaged in every phase of the project lifecycle. Some of their duties include: scoping a system, requirements-gathering, producing functional documentation, managing client expectations and developer constraints, and ensuring system viability. A Business Analyst communicates well with both business and technical staff, produces clear and comprehensive documentation and process diagrams, and is comfortable presenting to the client. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Gather and define business requirements. Analyze and map processes (current state/future state). Produce high quality documentation that includes but not limited to: Vision Documents, Functional and Non-functional Requirements Documents, Process Documents, Use Cases, Test Cases, Solution Options Analysis, Risk Documentation and Management. Communicate with various business units to gather requirements and resolve issues. Communicate with other project teams to identify interdependencies and resolve issues. Provide guidance to stakeholders on devising effective and efficient approaches to achieve project objectives. Create test case documentation and document defects using Quality Center. Analyze data and in some cases application code. Report status and issues to the Project Manager(s). QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to work independently, prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Strong organizational, quantitative and analytical skills. Excellent communication and persuasion skills with ability to present findings. Demonstrated commensurate work experience. Experience in performing requirements modeling using activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, state diagrams, data models, and use-cases; or a combination of these. Strong experience in analyzing, prioritizing, and managing software defects, and effectively working with developers in fixing and closing defects. Solid understanding and knowledge of custom application development Exceptional Technical Writing Skills plus Excellent Verbal Communication Skills and Customer Facing communications. Modeling, diagramming, OO modeling, UM. High school diploma or equivalent. 1 - 3 years related experience. HOURS: Full-time |
